As DLA Piper’s first Chief Knowledge Officer, Barbara is responsible for developing and implementing a Knowledge strategy that helps lawyers practice smarter by optimizing the collective legal and client knowledge of the firm. She is also responsible for a variety of legal practice transformation initiatives including the adoption of generative AI. Barbara leads the Knowledge Department which includes the Knowledge Management, Technology, Resources and Research Services teams.
Barbara joined DLA Piper with 25 years of legal experience, including a lengthy tenure at BDO USA and BDO Seidman, where she held various positions on the legal team, including serving as General Counsel from 2001 through 2012.
