Rebecca Chapman is a Senior Assistant Law Librarian with the Charles B. Sears Law Library at the University at Buffalo School of Law, SUNY. In addition to this work, Ms. Chapman serves as the Outreach Liaison to the Undergraduate Legal Education program, and the Outreach Liaison to the new Department of Indigenous Studies. Before coming to the University at Buffalo School of Law, Ms. Chapman practiced as an attorney in Indian Law for over sixteen years. Her practice focused on Native Rights, Land claims, Gaming and Employment law, Sovereignty, and numerous other issues in Indian Country. She practiced within Indian Country inside areas of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Oklahoma, California, and New York. In addition, she worked for the National Indian Gaming Commission in Washington, D.C. for over three years. Her areas of scholarship include discussions on Seneca land disputes, gaming and sovereignty in Indian Country, and more.
