Do you have a project you just cannot seem to find the time to complete? Are you part of a team that you wish was working better together? Have you wondered about the practices and principles of project management and whether they might help you achieve your goals? If your answer to any of these questions is “yes,” attend "Simply Done: Managing Projects Big and Small for Work and Life!" During this program, you will learn about the benefits of project management to both individuals and organizations and how librarians are using project management to enhance resources and services. You will leave with an appreciation of how you can use different project management methodologies, techniques, and tools to improve processes, enhance collaboration, communication, and inclusivity, and complete meaningful work in a variety of contexts.

Target Audience:

This program will be valuable to librarians in almost any role and in every library type and will focus on useful project management skills and knowledge that librarians can leverage both in their library and in their personal lives. The program will be particularly relevant for librarians with an interest in enhancing current team-based work and any librarians about to undertake a larger project or initiative.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will be able to describe the different types of project management methodologies and how organizations and individuals at all levels can benefit from robust project management.
Participants will be able to utilize multiple project management tools and techniques to achieve their goals (both personal and professional).
Participants will develop a plan for growing their project management knowledge and skills and how to leverage them to successfully improve a process or complete a project.
