Taking a Train
Amtrak serves Chicago with about 50 trains arriving and departing daily. Amtrak is located downtown in
Chicago Union Station, which is 1.7 miles from the Hyatt Regency Chicago.
Driving
Chicago is accessible via several major interstates and highways: I-90 (Kennedy Expressway), I-94 (Dan Ryan Expressway), I-55 (Stevenson Expressway), I-290 (Eisenhower Expressway), I-294 (Tri-State Tollway). Use this

Transportation to and from Chicago Airports
Prepare for your trip to Chicago and familiarize yourself with how to get around. Transportation from O’Hare (17 miles from downtown) and Midway Airports (10 miles from downtown) is plentiful. Please review the options below and determine what will work best for you before you leave for Chicago.
Subway (CTA)

O’Hare International Airport (ORD): Take the CTA Blue Line from ORD to the Clark/Lake stop in downtown Chicago. Travel time is approximately 45 minutes, and the cost is $5.00.
Midway International Airport (MDW): Take the CTA Orange Line from MDW to the State/Lake stop in downtown Chicago. Travel time is approximately 25 minutes, and the cost is $2.50.
Rideshare (Uber/Lyft)
Rates vary based on the time of day (e.g., surge pricing) and vehicle type selected. Travel time is approximately 40 minutes to one hour. It may be closer to 1-1.5 hours during rush hour.
O’Hare International Airport (ORD): There are three pickup locations at ORD for economy rides: Terminal 2 (waiting area Upper level between Door 2A and Door 2D), Terminal 3 (Upper level outside Door 2E), and Terminal 5 (Lower level, outside Door 5C).
Midway International Airport (MDW): The pickup location at MDW is located at Arrivals - Door 4 (outside of Baggage Claim). To meet your driver, enter the center aisle.
Taxi
Taxi service is available from both O’Hare International Airport (ORD) and Midway International Airport (MDW), and they are located outside of baggage claim. Rates range from $40-50 from O'Hare, and $30-$40 from Midway. Rates vary based on distance, time of day, and number of passengers. Travel time is approximately 40 minutes to one hour. It may be closer to 1-1.5 hours during rush hour.
Shuttle
There are several shuttles that service both O’Hare International Airport (ORD) and Midway International Airport (MDW).
